Wow! If you are anything like me cooking 3 meals a day for 2 weeks has gotten a little old haha. I have been looking for easier options to still create flavorful meals. I love making a homemade spaghetti sauce but when I went to the grocery store all the canned tomatoes were gone, so jarred sauce it was! This post includes two of my “secret” ingredients that I put in my sauce and an amazing one-pot tip at the end. Happy Cooking!
First I started with browning the meat, I always saute garlic and onion for a few minutes then brown the meat. You can use Italian sausage, ground turkey or ground beef (which is what I used). You can also omit this step for a vegetarian option.
After the meat is browned, add in your choice of jarred sauce. Then, I have three additions to really up your pasta sauce game.
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Red Wine Vinegar
- Italian Seasoning (I love this McCormick grinder option!)
I do all of these to taste, but about 2 tablespoons of each. (Maybe a little more red wine vinegar!)
I let this simmer for 40 minutes, then here is the best one-pot trick! Add in 2 cups of beef broth (you can use vegetable broth or water to keep it vegetarian) then add in your pasta without stirring. Let it cook, covered for 5 minutes then uncover and stir for an additional 10-15 minutes. I cooked angel hair pasta so mine took 15 minutes total to cook. The pasta comes out so flavorful and your whole dinner is ready in one pot!
I hope y’all enjoy cooking! If you make this feel free to tag me so I can see it!
