Wow! This post is LONG overdue and I am so sorry it has taken me so long to write it. For Father’s
Let me just say- it did NOT disappoint. We were seated on the patio which was a little warm (July in Texas haha) but the food and hospitality more than made up for the warmer weather. I will say- call to make a reservation! The restaurant is small so I think it would be hard to just “walk-in” but ask for a table on the patio or inside when you make the reservation depending on your preference.
First, we started out with the Pincho Plate and the seared prawns. Wow. Just wow! The prawns are a must-order in my opinion. The Pincho Plate was nice to get a taste of different things, but it didn’t blow me out of the water.
And of course, we ordered a glass (or 2 or 3 haha) of the red wine sangria! It was perfect for the hot Summer weather and was not too sweet for our taste!
We came hungry, so we decided to order another appetizer and went with the boiled octopus. This was incredible! It was unlike anything I had ever tasted before. Everyone agreed it was amazing!
Onto the main courses: We ordered three different ones and shared. And by shared, I mean Chris kept the Paella to himself and the three of us shared the fish of the day and the lambshank.
- The Paella: I am not a paella fan so I can not speak to this, but Chris got the A Banda Paella (cooked with seafood) and really liked it. The portions were not very big, but with the other appetizers we ordered it was fine.
- The Fish of the Day: We were totally surprised by this one. We all misheard the waitress and thought she said the fish of the day was cod. So, when this came out there were some very confused looks. It ended up being cuttlefish! The flavor was very good, and it was fun to try something none of us had tasted before.
- Low and Slow Cooked Lambshank: Wow. Just Wow. I mean… look at it. And then head to Sketches of Spain and order it.
And onto dessert. We couldn’t decide and again by “we” I mean Chris, so we got two different desserts! The first one I can’t remember the name, but it was like a fancy churro with ice cream and I wish we had ordered two more. It was that good! The second thing we ordered was the cheesecake. Even if you aren’t a cheesecake “person” I would recommend trying it. It is unlike anything you have tasted.
We had a fantastic time and I can’t wait to go back and try even more!
