Y’all know I am a beach girl all the way, but we took a trip to Whitefish, MT in March and it stole my heart. The views & food were amazing and the town was so fun to walk around. Whitefish has a little bit of everything: skiing, food, shopping, views for reading. We are already planning a trip back here to visit in the Summer months.
Where We Stayed:
We rented a house through Vacasa – it was in a great location for our group and had a private hot tub! We had a mixed group of skiiers and non-skiiers so this house being in the middle of town and the mountain was perfect for us. The road up to the house did get a little icy one night but other than that, no problems!
What We Did:
Spa:
We made appointments at The Spa at Whitefish Lake – it was great to unwind and relax. Chris and I did a couples massage, but other girls did facials and said they were amazing! Plan time after your massage to head to the bar and have a baileys and coffee by the fire.
Snowmobiling:
This was my favorite day on the trip! We did the two hour “quickie tour” with Swan Mountain Snowmobiling. We did one snow mobile (Chris drove and I was the passenger) and it was a blast! Click here to watch my TikTok of our tour. When we were done we wished we would have done the four hour tour!
Hot Tub Time:
Whatever you do make sure where you are staying has a hot tub! We had so much fun in it and it helped with the skiers sore muscles.
Where We Ate:
Since we had a big group (8 people) we made our reservations for dinner about 2 months in advance. If you have a smaller group you could walk into some places or make the reservation a couple days before. For breakfast and lunch we went with the flow and ended up eating at the house for some of our meals.
Bulldog Saloon:
We had a late lunch/early dinner here our first night. Our flight was late getting in so we dropped our bags off and headed straight here. Order at the counter and pick your table… the cheeseburger, onion rings and sour cream & chive french fries are must orders!
Buffalo Cafe:
We went here for brunch without a reservation- we had to wait about 25 minutes for a table so we walked around downtown and did some shopping while we waited. Ask what their seasonal mimosa is- we got peach and mango and the fresh juices were so good. The french toast was another fan favorite!
Last Chair Kitchen & Bar:
Put this on your
Abbruzzo:
If you are an Italian food lover, add this to your list. Its right in town and the food was super good! Order the calamari and The Beez Knees for a drink.
The Lodge at Whitefish Lake – Boat Club Dining Room:
This was the perfect ending to our trip! The food was incredible and they have a great wine list. The grilled elk tenderloin was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I mean… just look at the photo!!
What to Pack:
Whitefish is super casual! Sweaters & leggings are the perfect outfit combo especially for March. I brought two pairs of boots for the trip and they were both perfect. Add in some fun winter accessories and a puffy jacket and you are good to go!
